I can’t believe I like Gardening so much

(because I used to make fun of people who were into gardening)

I’m crazy and I do things like try and learn how to garden even though I don’t have a yard. Also, up until this past summer I’ve never been able to keep a plant alive and even cut flowers (in vases) seemed to wilt very quickly.

Somehow, some way? I was able to start a (container) garden this past summer and keep it alive and thriving.

I have a small porch (well, a balcony) that gets enough sunlight. I figured this was enough to try and keep some some starter plants (purchased from a local garden center) alive in plant pots.

I’ve mostly been able to grow herbs/aromatics that I actually use in cooking. I have three different kinds of basil, three different kinds of mint, two kinds of onions, one green tea leaf plant, rosemary, oregano and thyme. I also have two spider plants that I actually don’t like very much but I feel bad about just throwing away (and killing)

Oh… and I have an avocado seed that’s growing into a very small tree that will never produce an avocado but that’s not the point.

I honestly have really enjoyed the learning process of gardening even when garden pests (like aphids and spider mites and slugs)…
