Have I cancelled the dating apps for the last and final time?
A little more than two months ago, we finally connected off one of the many dating apps I reluctantly paid premium membership to try.
The interesting thing is I saw him on the app a few times and kept going back to his profile. I didn’t think to even try and match with him. When I think back on it all, I think I even remember seeing him on the many other apps I tried and gave up on.
Because he also paid for a membership, we got notifications every time we both looked at each others’ profiles. He’s the one that made the first move and sent me a message saying, “We both are looking at each others’ profiles, how about we give it a shot with actually matching so we can start messaging.” I sort of laughed to myself and then agreed to ‘heart’ his profile. It immediately matched us (because he had already ‘hearted’ my profile) and this made direct messaging more possible.
We messages through the app and then he asked if it was OK to text instead and I gladly exchanged phone numbers with him. Not long after that, he asked if it would be OK if he called me so we could hear each others’ voices and connect in more real time.
Our first phone conversation was almost two hours long and filled with genuine moments of making each other…
