So much Lightning and Thunder
We found our ways to each other when 2020 was winding down.
I didn’t know it but it was year three of him paying for premium memberships on a few dating apps. He didn’t know that I had almost just confessed to my (guy) best friend that earlier that year I wanted to tell him I loved him before he broke my heart by doing something even he couldn’t forgive himself for doing to me.
I remember swiping left on him before and not because of his wheelchair.
It was because he is younger than me. He also lived just beyond a radius I considered to be local but because of where I live (just outside of Washington DC) to make it work? It would more than likely be a long distance relationship.
Because of his premium membership, he showed up repeatedly as an option. I finally swiped right because he was definitely handsome as much as his delightfully honest profile made me laugh.
Exchanging messages with him was immediately different than how it was with everyone else. We actually had exchanges that were sincere conversation beyond just canned “lines” recycled for online dating.
