Why they don’t call it what it really is

Because working with and for an actual Psychopath means actual hellish daily conditions for most anyone.

Last week, I was ambushed by one of the executive owners of the company where I used to work. I was quite literally in the middle of a standing meeting he specifically tasked me to be in on his behalf. I was also right in the middle of both daily and weekly tasks that made regional operations run more smoothly.

When he interrupted what I was doing, I was stunned because he insisted I immediately drop everything I was doing. I thought there was a serious emergency at-hand because this is a way he had acted before.

Turns out there was an emergency.

It was that I was laid off, it was effective immediately and he said he would escort me from the building and no need to do anything other than collect my belongings.

I know it’s true that getting laid off happens more often than any of us might ever talk about. This is even more true with the last year being what and how it’s been because of the pandemic.

My situation is/was different though. The working history I had with the person who was my former boss and one of the heads/owners of the company is what made it different. Before…
