An old-fashioned idea for a modern day romance

It might come as a surprise to you but even though I’ve managed to go from online dating to this actual relationship, we don’t see each other but maybe once or (if we’re lucky) twice a week.

We both have work schedules, separate social and active lives, relationships with our kids and then all of the typical adult responsibilities to manage. I’m betting that even if we were living in the same house, finding together time would take real prioritizing and it would easily end up being moved toward the bottom of the list of priorities.

But because this particular relationship is one that’s really important to me and one I continue to be hopeful will last, I’ve thought about how and what I can do to help build the longevity into that I hope will help it to be sustainable.

The person I’m grateful to be with is endearingly “old school” with what appeals to him and he insists on having in his life. Here are some of the ways this has shown itself:

… He appreciates social media but he’s more of a spectator of it vs. an active participant. He has social media accounts but it doesn’t occur to him to add himself to the many things there are online.
