My work life has been super interesting since summer time when I was laid off.
For as much as news platforms and people are buzzing about how “everyone is hiring” and jobs are in such abundance, it’s actually not been as easy to simply “get” a job. This is especially true for the level of career experience and education I have.
While people might be keen on both of those things that might get me in for an interview, there are more candidates who will accept a lot less pay for the same amount of work.
Still, I’ve been successful at making my situation work for me to keep myself (and my child) from even the outskirts of being destitute. I’ve even been able to work and be paid more than what I was previously paid when I in a corporate job. I’m also working fewer hours. This is to say that I’ve been working for myself by solely working of my own business.
